About Us
London Carrom Academy (LCA)
London Carrom Academy (LCA) is a dedicated sports academy established to promote, develop, and advance the sport of Carrom in London, across the United Kingdom, and beyond.
Our vision is to create a professional, welcoming, and inclusive environment where people from all communities, cultures, backgrounds, and age groups can come together through Carrom. We believe that Carrom is a sport for everyone and that participation in sport can play an important role in bringing communities together, encouraging friendship, mutual respect, and social connection.
At LCA, we focus on three core areas: Training, Hosting, and Competition. Through structured coaching programmes, player development sessions, workshops, and specialist training, we help players develop their technical skills, tactical understanding, concentration, confidence, discipline, and competitive ability.
We are committed to making Carrom accessible to beginners while providing structured development pathways for players who aspire to compete at local, regional, national, European, and international levels.
Community Cohesion Through Carrom
A central purpose of LCA is to use Carrom as a means of community engagement and cohesion. London is home to people from many different cultures and communities, and Carrom provides a unique opportunity for people to meet, interact, and build relationships through a shared sporting activity.
Carrom can be played and enjoyed by people regardless of their cultural, ethnic, religious, social, or economic background. By bringing people together around the Carrom board, LCA seeks to create opportunities for friendship, inclusion, participation, mutual understanding, and community connection.
We aim to work with community groups, schools, youth organizations, sports clubs, cultural organizations, charities, and other local partners to introduce Carrom to wider sections of the community.
Training and Personal Development
LCA believes that Carrom is not only a competitive sport but also an activity that encourages concentration, strategic thinking, patience, decision-making, coordination, discipline, and mental stimulation.
Regular participation and training can provide an enjoyable way for people to remain mentally active, develop focus, learn new skills, and connect socially with others.
The Academy aims to create a positive sporting environment that supports mental wellbeing and social interaction. Through participation, training, friendship, and community activities, we seek to help reduce social isolation and encourage positive engagement and wellbeing.
We do not present Carrom as a substitute for professional mental-health care; rather, we see sport and community participation as valuable ways of supporting positive wellbeing and social connection.
Hosting and Events
The Academy aims to establish London as a vibrant centre for Carrom by hosting tournaments, championships, leagues, coaching camps, exhibitions, community events, and international competitions.
We welcome players, coaches, referees, officials, clubs, academies, associations, and sporting organizations from the UK and around the world to participate in and contribute to the development of Carrom.
Competition and Excellence
Competition is at the heart of our Academy. We provide opportunities for players to test and develop their skills through local tournaments, open competitions, leagues, championships, and representative events.
While encouraging competitive excellence, we also believe that competition should be conducted with fair play, sportsmanship, integrity, respect, equality, discipline, and friendship.
Our aim is to support players at every stage of their development, from those picking up a Carrom striker for the first time to experienced players aspiring to represent London, the United Kingdom, or compete internationally.
